Olympian Carol Rodriguez steps out with Motives for La La

Motives for La La is fast becoming a favorite of everyone who loves makeup. And we’ve got a new fan.

Just recently, Olympian Carol Rodriguez was caught stepping out in style wearing Motives for La La and looking absolutely gorgeous!

A semi-finalist at the 2012 London Olympics in the 400m, Carol Rodriguez is a two-time medalist from the 2010 Central American and Caribbean games, and was named the 2006 Women’s Athlete of the Year for Puerto Rico.

Our girl, La La Anthony, has graced the cover of the September issue of Juicy Magazine and is featured in a full four-page spread!

In the article, La La shows us her expansive closet in her Los Angeles home, including some of her favorite shoes (Christian Louboutin’s, thank you very much!) and her fashionable wardrobe. La La tells us that  feeling comfortable in your own skin and not being afraid to take risks are the hallmarks of her style transformation.

When La La is asked about her new makeup line, she tells Juicy, “I did Motives for La La… it definitely broadened the spectrum for African-American and Hispanic women…”

Motives in Miami

Well the heat is on, and we don’t mean outside! Motives for La La received great exposure at a recent salon opening in Miami and we couldn’t be more excited!

The grand opening of Angela Meadows Salon in Miami was a huge hit with thanks, in part, to Motives for La La. Angela Meadows, the salon owner, is a new Market America Distributor. Check out these beautiful photos from the event!

As we all know Motives has expanded into the UK and has become a huge hit! Well, Motives for La La has also taken the UK by storm. Recently La La has been showing off her line in US cities like Washington D.C. and Atlanta, but since she was in London supporting husband Carmelo Anthony she decided to throw a little get together and tell more people about her line. Take a look at the event that the beautiful and talented La La Anthony hosted in London on August 9th, 2012.

Motives Booth Recap

The Motives Booth was phenomenal this year! We saw so many great faces: faces we recognized and faces we didn’t. It was wonderful to see so many new faces! We were very pleased with all of the traffic that we had too. Even Loren stopped in to say hey and see what we were up to and talk to a few people.

We know you loved all of the products but the biggest hit this year was the Motives Lash Primer, Motives Retractable Lip and Eye Brush, Motives Red My Lips Lip Quad, and the Motives Fall/Winter 2012 Runway Collection. Of course, my favorite is the Motives Lash Primer and the Motives Retractable Powder Brush. I hinted at a few of our products – especially the lash primer – a few days ago. Did anyone catch on?

We hope you loved our Motives Booth – don’t forget to attend our Motives Trade Show – we have some very exciting things to for you.

Coming Soon from Motives – Funky French Manicure

It has been such an exciting week in Motives! We have been working hard to develop and test the newly launched Motives products and could not wait to share them with you! One of the products that I am most excited about are our new Nail Lacquer colors, with new formulas and bottles. From trendy fall and winter colors to shocking brights, Motives and Motives for La La has introduced a wide array of Nail Lacquer for you to enjoy.

Recently, I was able to play with two of my favorite Motives Nail Lacquer colors – Swagger and Amnesia. I created a funky french manicure, using the bright orange Amnesia as the tip to the neutral grey Swagger base.

To get this look, first paint two coats of Swagger as your base color. Allow to completely dry. (Trust me on this – if your nail lacquer is not completely dry, it will peel off when you take the tape off)

Next, for super-straight tips, apply tape to the completely dry base color, leaving only the tips exposed.

Paint the exposed tip with a bright color. I chose Motives for La La Nail Lacquer in Amnesia.

Finally, once the tip color has completely dried, slowly peel the tape off to reveal your very own funky french manicure. Here are my final results:

MAIC 2012! Are You Excited?

We are so excited for what is about to unfold at MAIC 2012! This week is going to be very exciting – we have so much planned and we know you will have a blast! We are featuring new and exciting things at the Motives Booth and at Motives Trade Show – so don’t miss out! Stop by and check out what all of the rage is about.

We know the Motives Booth is always a huge hit, and all of you seem to love it – ladies, be prepared – this year is going to sparkle and shine. We have also revamped our Motives Trainings to better suit all of our trainers which we think you will enjoy tremendously– and don’t forget our Motives Breakouts – learn about product and ask all of the questions you want! Don’t forget to show up for our Motives Trade Show event on Sunday either. We have some very special things planned for all of you. Trade Show is great, hands on is a perfect way to see what products best suit you and your clientele. Motives by Loren Ridinger and Motives for La La have some great products to launch this year. We have been working very hard to bring these great products straight to you so don’t miss out!

La La Visits Urban Salons

We all know and love the beautiful La La Anthony, who launched her own line of Motives products at Market America World Conference in February of this year. From foundations and blushes to lip shines and lipsticks, Motives for La La has been a phenomenal success! We are so excited that La La chose to partner with Loren Ridinger on this exciting endeavor.

Recently, La La has been showing off her products in major U.S. cities, making personal appearances at salons to offer tutorials and to give local makeup lovers a chance to experience this amazing line. She recently made stops in Washington D.C. and Atlanta. We love that La La takes the time to share her passion for makeup with other beauty lovers! Check out these photos from her latest visits:

Get the Look: Emma Stone

Emma Stone is everywhere these days! She just landed her first Vogue cover and will soon be hitting the big screen in another blockbuster role in The Amazing Spider-Man. She’s sported many different looks at press events and premieres for the film, but this is one of our favorites:

Get Emma’s Look:

  1. Emma is a rare bird in Hollywood because she maintains a fair complexion all year long. Doesn’t she look refreshing with her light skin in the middle of the summertime? If you have fair skin, use a light foundation like Motives Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation with SPF 15 in Linen. If your skin is darker, no worries! You can still create bright eyes and lips like Emma’s.
  2. For Emma’s shiny lips, use a gloss instead of a lipstick. Motives Lip Shine in Juicy Watermelon or Motives for La La Mineral Lip Shine in Drama Queen will help you to get this look.
  3. In this look, Emma uses a dark liner around her eye and a glittery shadow on her lids. Motives Liquid Eyeliner will go on smooth for the perfect thin line. For maximum sparkle, use Motives Paint Pot Mineral Eye Shadow in Allure and top with a brush Motives Gem Dust in 24K.
