Ladies, we all know the feeling when we finally get a glimpse of ourselves by the end of the day—not how I looked this morning! I won’t deny it, even my eyelids get oily, but I can’t resist putting on various eye shadows to quench my creative side (it’s the only artistic side I’ve got to work with!).
But who likes those sudden jolts of fear when you see the clown version of yourself once you get a moment to yourself? Yeah, me neither. I scare way too easily to have to worry with eye shadow creases!
Lucky for us, there are some tricks to keep your eye shadow from sliding right into your lids. First thing’s first: When applying eye shadow, don’t use your fingers—the oils in our fingers will only make our lids crease up faster.
Using powder shadows is preferable to creams or gels because they won’t fade or melt as quickly. If you do want to use creams or gels, Motives® Eye Candy Crème Eye Shadows are a good choice, I would suggest just applying it below the crease—that way you still get the color, but won’t even have to worry about it sneaking into your lids the moment you look away!
For the dramatic look achieved by applying shadow over the entire lid, try using some eye primer. Just slap some on before you add your shadow on and you’re good to go for the day—smudge free! Motives® Eye Base was my diamond in the ruff, my eye shadow doesn’t move from where I leave it now!
Note: if you wear glasses, this will only magnify your eyes so if you were specs, as I do, be extra careful!
We no longer have to be afraid of wearing those fun, flirty eye shadows! My creativity flows through my eyes all day, every day now.
