The office is abuzz with talk of the new Motives by Loren Ridinger and Motives for La La Nail Lacquer collection. We are so excited that they will all be available for sale in only a few weeks! Yesterday, I painted my nails with an amazing blue hue. Singing the Blues is my favorite from the new collection. It’s a gorgeous shade of blue that reminds me of blueberry cobbler! It is definitely going to be my first purchase once the collection is available.
I decided to ask some of the other Motives girls in the office which colors were their favorites. These were the biggest hits:
La La’s Marquee was a huge hit at our booth at International Convention, so it was no surprise that it was also a favorite in the office. It works great over many different colors, but I like it best when it is coated over Steel My Heart or Swagger. Motives Product Specialist, Ashley Lowrance, couldn’t narrow it down to one color. She chose both Vintage and Fudge my Age, saying that they are great complimentary colors for a funky French manicure.
Did you have the chance to preview the nail lacquers at International Convention? Which color are you excited to purchase first? I want them all!

After a wildly successful launch of Motives for LaLa at World Conference in February, we have been so excited to share with you even more great products from LaLa’s line! New additions were just revealed at International Convention and we’re re-capping some of the best ones here. Ladies, meet your new favorites!
Mineral Lip Shine
As an addition to LaLa’s popular collection of Mineral Lip Shines, we’ve added two new stunning shades, full of glitter for those fun nights out on the town. Runway and Soho Pink are the perfect glam touch to layer over lipstick or to wear alone.
Mineral Lip Crayon
Motives by Loren Ridinger already has a great line of lip crayons and now La La offers four mineral crayons in shades for every skin tone: Cinnamon, Cotton Candy, Mocha, and Raspberry. Perfect your pout by applying the lip crayon before adding one of La La’s Mineral Lipsticks. What are your favorite crayon/lipstick combos?
Mineral Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil
La La’s new brow pencils come in three shades: Auburn, Dark Brown, and Medium Brown. Match the shade to your hair color and apply small strokes to achieve the natural look that you want. With a handy brush, these pencils are great for taming and shaping your brows. Do you want long-lasting wear? La La’s brow pencils are waterproof for maximum wear.
Fall/Winter 2012 Runway Collection
A stunning new eye shadow quad will prepare you to match the latest seasonal color trends. With deep, bold shades of red, purple, black, and bronze, you’re sure to find multiple combinations for stunning eyes.
Which new Motives for La La product are you most excited about?
Loren Ridinger, creator of Motives by Loren Ridinger, just left the stage at Market America 2012 International Convention and unveiled all of our newest products! If you missed the official reveal, read on to see what’s in store for your beauty cabinet this fall:
Staying on trend with glitter, the new Motives Glitter Eyeliner gives your eyes an extra hint of sparkle to make your eyes dazzle. Will you apply it for a daytime shock or for a hot date night? For tips on application, check out this post.
For the most voluminous lashes possible, use Motives Lash Primer before applying your mascara. Motives Lash Primer coats your entire lash, just like mascara, and binds to each hair so that when mascara is applied, it will appear sleek and shiny. As an added bonus, the Motives Lash Primer also helps to strengthen your lashes and prevent flaking!
Fall/Winter 2012 Runway Collection
We are excited to introduce our newest pressed eye shadows in the Fall/Winter 2012 Runway Collection! Inspired by the fashion seen on the runway for this season, this quad includes four highly pigmented mineral eye shadows in hues of taupe, shimmery blue, shimmery red and shimmery green. Did you know that you can apply these shadows wet or dry? Choose your method of application to match the look you’re going for!
These are three of our favorites, but there are many more additions to the Motives by Loren Ridinger collection. What is your favorite new product that you can’t wait to try? Comment below to let us know!
Anne Hathaway has come a long way from her Princess Diaries film debut. Every time she hits the red carpet she dazzles photographers with her beauty and style choices. While promoting her latest film, The Dark Knight Rises, Anne has sported a new, super short hair style paired with dark makeup.

Get Anne’s Look:
1. Much like Emma Stone, Anne keeps a beautiful fair complexion year-round. To make light skin stay smooth and shine-free, use Motives Ageless Renewal Foundation in Ivory, followed by Motives Luminous Translucent Loose Powder in Light.
2. Anne has clearly defined brows in this look. Color, and then shape your brows with the Motives Essential Brow Kit. This kit offers a powder/wax combo that is easy to apply and allows you to be as subtle or as bold as you wish.
3. For Anne’s bronze/dark eyes, combine a couple of different shades of eye shadow. Start with an all-over gold tone, like Motives Eye Candy Crème Eye Shadow in Butterscotch. Darken your crease with Motives Pressed Eye Shadow in Vino or Hot Chocolate. Lastly, lighten up along the brow bone with Motives Pressed Eye Shadow in Pink Gold.
4. To make your eyes pop, use a liquid liner on the top and the bottom, followed by a brilliant, dark mascara. Motives Lustrafy High Definition Mascara in Onyx helps to make your lashes smoother and softer. Apply two coats for maximum fullness.
5. To get Anne’s pretty red lips, choose a medium to medium-dark toned lipstick that will stand out, but not overwhelm the rest of your makeup. Motives for La La Mineral Lipstick in Naughty will complement this look well.

Brunettes have lots of options when it comes to makeup selection. Cool, warm, dark, light, neutral… many different color and shade combinations look great with brown hair. One look that never fails a brunette? Smokey eyes. Here’s a great way to get this sexy look:
Use the Motives Eye Base to make sure that your shadow stays on as long as possible! Cover your entire lid with Motives Pressed Eye Shadow in Steel. Along the lash line, darken with Motives Pressed Eye Shadow in Heavy Metal. To lighten up a smokey eye, blend in Motives Pressed Eye Shadow in Liquid above your crease.
Line your eye with Motives Liquid Eyeliner and complete the look with two coats of Motives Lustrafy High Definition Mascara in Onyx.
With such prominent eye makeup application, lighten up your lips with a nude color. Motives Rich Formula Lipstick in Misty Rose or Natural will compliment this look well. Or, if you prefer a lip gloss, wear Motives for La La’s Mineral Lip Shine in Amazing.

If you’ve chosen to go with a bold hair color (bright red, purple, blue, orange, etc.), you are likely okay with being a little wild with your makeup choices. Here are some great tips to achieve a bright, vibrant look that will positively accent your bright hair color.
Consider three different ways to paint your lips. First, you can opt to match your lipstick to the shade of your hair. Motives Rich Formula Lipstick in Tomato Red matches up nicely with a bold head of red or orange hair. You can also choose to wear a lipstick that is completely opposite from your hair. Katy Perry pulled off this look when she paired her blue locks with cotton candy pink lipstick. If you’re attending an event where you want to tone down the brightness, a nude lip shine will work wonders.
When applying eye makeup, look for similarly bright colors that complement your hair. Paramore front woman Hayley Williams paired green with her siren red hair. For this look, use Motives Crème Eye Shadow in Sour Apple paired with Motives Pressed Eye Shadow in Green Apple and/or Gold Rush. Other bright shadows that might work well with statement hair? Lust Dust, Glamour, Goddess, Red Earth, Sequins, and Midnight.
After applying color, line those eyes with either a liquid liner or a pencil in a complimentary color. Using green shadows mentioned above? Motives Khol Eyeliner in Garden Green is a safe bet. Mascara can be bold and black, or try Motives Lustrafy High Definition Mascara in Midnight Blue for an extra shot of color.
Don’t forget your blush! Soften your cheeks or make them stand out, depending on which shade you use. Motives Pressed Blush in Flirt or Shooting Star will electrify your look, while Baby Doll will give you just the hint of pink that you need.

Do you think it’s true that blondes have more fun? It is easy to be a statement gal with brilliant blonde hair. However, do you know the most flattering eye shadow or lip shades to match your light locks? Using our favorite Motives products, we’ll recommend a great look for the golden girls out there.
Gold, copper, and brown are signature colors to pair with blonde hair. For eyes that shine, cover your entire eye lid with Motives Pressed Eye Shadow in Pink Gold or Vintage Glam. Brush Motives Pressed Eye Shadow in Chocolight into your crease and blend well with a Motives Eye Blender Brush.
For extra shimmer, lightly add a tiny bit of Paint Pot Mineral Eye Shadow in Elle on top. Complete the eye look with Motives for La La Mineral Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara in Black.
For absolutely glamorous lips, choose a lipstick shade that is dark enough to offset your light eyes and hair. Motives Rich Formula Lipstick in Raspberry Burst will offer an exciting contrast against your understated eyes.
