Get Liv’s Look:

The first key to achieving Liv’s look is to maintain a creamy, fair complexion. Avoid the harmful side effects of tanning and always use a foundation that includes SPF.
Rarely photographed without bright lips, a bold lip color is an essential for Liv. To give your lips a little extra oomph, use Motives Max Lips in Cocktail. For even more dramatic color choices, consider Motives Rich Formula Lipstick in Tomato Red, Fire Red, or Red Coral.

Remembering Vidal Sasson: Making Magic with Hair

Everyone knows him more for the line of hair care products that grace the store shelves today, but in his heyday, Vidal Sassoon was an artist, able to make magic with a pair of scissors.

Vidal Sassoon, the legendary British hairstylist who created some of this generation’s most memorable hair styles, died earlier today. He was 84.

After training as an apprentice in a local barber shop in central London, Sassoon opened his first salon in London in 1954. It was there that he began revolutionizing what were considered modern, low maintenance hair styles that women adored, including what has become known as “the bob cut.”

His star rose in the 1980s after moving to the United States, when the Vidal Sassoon name became a franchise unto itself. Who doesn’t remember the iconic slogan, “”If you don’t look good, we don’t look good”?

Eye-Popping Eyes with Motives: Lisa Kostka

Lisa Kostka, director of training and sales for Motives® by Loren Ridinger®, offered some of her favorite Motives makeup products and services, how she’s using them and why they can help you build a successful Motives Cosmetics business.

Attention ALL MAKEUP DIVAS: Do you want your eye makeup to last longer and make your eyes “POP”? Don’t be afraid of color this Spring Season have fun experimenting with different makeup colors. Be daring and try colors you never thought you could wear.

One of the most frustrating things for me is when I do my eye makeup and a couple hours later it has disappeared or it gets into my creases. I absolutely love our Motives Crème Eye Shadows. I use them under my powder shadows as an eye shadow primer. They are creamy so they help the powder shadow adhere better and last longer without creasing.

I use the Gum Drop on my lid and the Gold Dust under my brows with the eye primer brush. Then I use the new Motives Destination Beauty Color Perfection Quad shadows over it. You want to press and pat the shadows on top of the crème shadow. This will ensure the shadow will stay in place and have more intensity.

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and one you will always remember. With cameras flashing and all eyes on you it is so important that you find a makeup artist that can help you look your best.

Bridal Makeup Tips from Motives Cosmetics

Here are a couple tips to help you be better prepared for your wedding day:

Start getting regular facials and using good skin care products at least a minimum of three months prior to your wedding day. One of MY favorite products is Matriskin.

Find a Motives Makeup Artist at least a month before your wedding day to conduct a makeup trial. Doing a makeup trial is very important because it allows you to try out a couple different looks. Make sure you bring pictures of the different makeup looks you want to try. Try to stay away from going too trendy with your makeup you want more of a timeless look. You want to look back at your wedding pictures years later and recognize yourself.

A couple key products you will want to try are:

Motives® Eye Base is a light, textured cream that smooths and neutralizes the eyelids and keeps eye shadow from creasing, so that eye color stays on and looks true.

VH1′s “Full Court Life” introduces Motives for La La to the World

Season 2′s premiere of La La’s Full Court Life on VH1 not only brought our favorite star and entertainer, La La Anthony, back into our lives, but it also provided the world with an introduction to Motives for La La, the entertainer’s venture with Motives creator Loren Ridinger that has been taking the cosmetics industry by storm.

During this season’s premiere episode, viewers got a look at some never-before-seen footage of La La and Loren in Miami, as well as a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the Motives for La La photo shoot held in New York City.
