All Dolled Up with Motives by Loren Ridinger

With the resurgence of the 1920’s era coming into focus this season – as seen on celebrities ranging from Vanessa Hudgens to Kate Bosworth – it is easy to say that the art deco look is back in full swing.

The roaring 20’s were a decade known for glamour and excess – big lashes, accentuated cupid’s bow lips, dramatic eyes and rosy cheeks. Taking style cues from 1920’s icons, such as Clara Bow and Gloria Swanson, we have made it easy to make this look all dolled up!

Using the new Motives® Fall/Winter 2012 Runway Collection palette, start with the champagne-colored eye shadow, sweeping the color from the inner corner of your eyelid to just above your iris. Using the navy eye shadow, cover the outer half of your lid, creating a small V-shape into your crease.

Continue to sweep the deep blue into the crease and above the lid, into the corner of your eye above the lid.

For a smoky look that is the bee’s knees, elongate the V-shape by layering the same shade along your lower lashline. Moisten Motives Angled Eyeliner Brush and press the bristles in the emerald green. Line your eyes , making sure to extend the top liner a little past your natural lashline. For a look that hits on all sixes, add your favorite pair of Motives False Lashes.

For lips that are the cat’s pajamas, use a lip liner to accentuate the cupid’s bow of your lips. Use a dark lip color to really put on the ritz.

To really sink the flapper look, rouge the apples of your cheeks with a pearly red or pink blush. Now your 1920’s look is ready for the speakeasy!
